Hi, I’m Erin!
First thing’s first, I love words. Whether printed or spoken, or even just thought, I know their importance. I was that quirky kid who knew what she wanted to do with her life since elementary school. With journalism running in my family, it was only natural for me to pursue it as well.
First published at 8 years old, it never mattered to me that “print publications were dying”—I studied it in high school and college anyway.
Today, I’m fortunate to have a career as an editor, writer, and creator.
As Managing Editor for Wine Business Monthly, the leading print publication for the wine industry, it’s my job to write and edit articles on the business of wine, manage deadlines and budgets, coach and guide freelancers, and develop sessions for our conferences. I also have the incredible job of speaking at industry symposia and judging wine competitions around the world, emceeing and moderating at conferences, and guest lecturing at local colleges.
While stringing thoughts and paragraphs together has always come naturally to me, I know that’s not the case for everyone. I believe that everyone has a story to tell and with the right questions or guidance, anyone can be a writer. My talent is in making that happen, cheering on budding writers and ensuring every piece is the best it can be.
In my spare time, you can find me on the softball field, hiking the trails of Northern California, baking far more than any one person can eat, or curling up on the couch with my dog and a new book.
